I am happy to answer emails from students, as long as you:

Please do email me with any quick queries you have about anything I have gone over with you.  I am also happy to look at practice questions or coursework drafts this way.  My emails are:

Language                                               Langlit                                                       General

(Please do use the subject-specific ones, they go into lang/langlit folders that way and I know I have student queries to deal with.)

Here are some great links:

This site is all about english degrees - what they’re like, why anyone does them and loads of useful job statistics to show what you can do with one.

This site is great for Language students, AS & A2.  It has resources relevant to many of the key topic areas - child language, dialect, research methods etc.

This is Andrew Moore’s excellent site, which has a wealth of material on both language and literature/.

This one is Geoff Barton’s site, again for language topics/theories.

This link takes you straight to the grammar section of this detailed and very useful site for both language and literature.

There are some literature resources at S-Cool, including Wuthering Heights and Larkin’s Whitsun Weddings.

This is an excellent language-based blog, focusing on language in the news, and very helpfully identifying which bits of our syllabus (AQA A) the stories are relevant to!

Another literature site: Spark Notes, similar to York Notes, but free and online!  Useful for chapter summaries, general comments about theme and character etc.  Not as in-depth linguistically as you’ll need to be, but a helpful starting point.
